Frequently Asked Questions
We believe our customers should be informed on common issues and questions that may surface when faced with a locksmith emergency situation. If you have a question, we have the answers!
Can I use one key for all of my locks?
Yes, you can. This is called “keyed alike.” If you recently purchased a new lock set from our storefront or have gotten one from a local hardware store, we can key this lock to the lockset on your home or business.
I recently purchased new locks from my local hardware store, only to find out that they don’t fit in my doors old lock holes. What can I do?
If you have a home that is 30+ year old, there is a good chance that your original doors may not be prepped correctly to fit modern hardware. We can re-drill your door to accommodate your new locks (with no extra holes or tacky cover plates).
Should I have new hardware from the store rekeyed?
We highly recommend that you rekey the new locks that you just purchased from stores. We advise this because the lock you just purchased is keyed alike to multiple sets, therefore making your home vulnerable to a break in.
I just moved into a new home and I’m afraid the old owners may still have keys to the locks. I want to make sure no one has a key who shouldn’t. Do I have to replace all of my locks?
Replacing locks can be an expensive and sometimes stressful, headache. We can re-key your locks so that none of the old keys will work your locks ever again. We will supply you with a fresh set of new keys that only you have. No replacement required!
